Materials needed:
- Coloured paper (recycled paper, scrapbook paper etc)
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Googly eyes (optional)
- Black marker
How to make Rooster:
1. Cut out a large circle from the coloured paper to create the rooster’s body. Fold the circle in half or cut it in half. You can reshape the body and wing to make it more interesting.
2. Make the rooster’s head by cutting out two oval-shaped pieces, one from yellow paper and the other from white paper. Attach the yellow piece on top of the white piece using glue. Then, position and glue the beak, comb, wattle, and eye onto the head according to the image below.
3. Glue the head and wing onto the body.
4. Cut small strips of paper in various colours, such as reds, oranges, yellows, blues and greens to mimic the beautiful plumage of a rooster. Attach them securely with glue or double-sided tape. As you position each strip, consider varying the length and angle to give the tail a natural and feathery look. Gently curl the strips.
5. Finally, add any additional decorations or details to personalize your paper rooster.
Once you’ve completed your vibrant paper rooster, the next step is proudly displaying your handiwork. Hang it on the wall or place it on a shelf. Regardless of where you choose to showcase it, its presence is sure to brighten up the atmosphere, adding a cheerful touch that can uplift the spirit of any room.
Enjoy your colourful rooster and happy crafting!
