Valentine’s Day Ladybug Craft

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect time to be creative and reuse recycling materials for Valentine’s projects. Here’s a simple and beautiful idea that has been a hit in my classroom every year.

A colorful paper craft of a ladybug with heart-shaped spots on a green leaf, surrounded by small heart shapes.

How to Make a Cute Ladybug Craft

Materials you’ll need:

  • red colour cardstock paper ( or construction paper)
  • black marker
  • scissors
  • glue stick
  • optional: Instead of cutting out hearts from paper, consider using heart-shaped or dot-shaped black stickers for seniors and smaller kids. Another great idea is to use a heart-shaped hole puncher.

If you are a fan of ladybugs you’ll enjoy making this simple project. Start by cutting a large red circle and then divide it in half to create the ladybug’s wings. Set aside the wings for now.

Next, cut out two small red hearts or use heart-shaped stickers for the ends of the antennae. Then, cut out a black circle for the body and a smaller circle for the head.

Now it’s time to have fun with the glue. Take your time and don’t stress too much about how the wings or hearts are positioned.

To finish, use a thin black marker or pen to draw the antennae.
